Celebrating its 14th year in 2019, the internationally recognized Pitchfork Music Festival presents 40+ bands over the course of three days each summer in Chicago’s Union Park. The festival highlights the best in new and emerging music. Since 2006, this independently run festival has consistently proven to be one of the most welcoming, comfortable, reasonably priced, and rewarding weekends of music around.
Hosting up to 60,000 attendees of all ages from 45 states and 26 countries, Pitchfork Music Festival offers a wide array of activities beyond the music. With 50 individual vendors, as well as specialty retail fairs, the festival works to support local businesses while promoting the Chicago arts and food communities as a whole. We maintain a commitment to keeping prices affordable, providing new and useful amenities, and working with the city’s best local vendors each year.
CHIRP Record Fair →
Shop for records between sets! The Chicago Independent Radio Project brings you vinyl selections from indie labels, local record stores, and independent vendors. Buying direct from labels without shipping fees will save you a few pennies and sellers often dig out rare catalogue items for the event. Get there early on Friday if you want to score the best finds!
Renegade Craft Fair →
Renegade Craft Fair, the world’s largest curated showcase of independent craft and design, creates a vibrant and lively marketplace that reflects and illuminates the work of today’s modern makers. Equal parts entrepreneurial incubator and community gathering space, it all culminates in a lively celebration of contemporary craft and design culture.
Flatstock Poster Fair →
The country’s best show-poster artists gather to share their work and sell prints at Flatstock, hosted by the American Poster Institute and Speedball.
Book Fort →
Book Fort is a roving, interactive book fair that seeks to make a meaningful contribution to communities through readings, performances, and opportunities to connect with a highly-curated selection of independent publishers, presses, and literary organizations. A list of Book Fort publishers will be announced soon.
Little ones love Pitchfork! Each year we set up a quiet part of the park with an “instrument petting zoo”—a perfect chance for them to try out what they’re seeing on-stage.
